Top Download Week!

Finally Idol is back on a Tuesday night! It's so much more refreshing this way. The ushering in adn clapping for the judges is starting to annoy me a little though. It's not about them, it's about the contestants.

Anoop, I had so much hope for you and your Idol career. It all died tonight. I really appreciate him picking more of a crowd pleaser and trying to bring more energy to the stage. But they brought out the same lighting that he had when he sang "Beat It" a few weeks back and it just reminded us of what nearly destroyed him before. I think his fan base is so massive that he might have one more week left in him. He better pray alot before tomorrow night if he wants to stay. There is a few reasons why this didn't work other than the "Beat It" lights. You never sing Usher song's on American Idol, you don't wear nice jackets with strange chains on one arm, and you don't deny the tweezers a visit before you perform.

Judges: (R) You picked up your swagger. The vocals were cool but it wasn’t the right song for you. (K) You gotta go up in your range and you played it safe. I feel a bunch of frat guys dared you to sing Usher. (P) Wasn’t sure at first but glad you went back to the playful side. Your vocal sounded really good. Work on stage presence. (S) I thought it was a complete and utter mess. You came over as a wannabe. No originality. It gave me a headache

Okay, so I'll say this. Megan has gotten very lucky. Despite how cute she is, how quirky her fashion sense is, or how her voice has a tone to it that makes you feel all funny inside, we have to remember that she dug her grave tonight. It's been a long time coming after a few trainwrecks leading up to tonight. But tonight was really bad. The song had no chorus to hook you and her vocals were weaker sounding than usual. I almost want to feel sorry for you, but then I remember when you forced the fact that you were sick by coughing every five seconds down our throats a few weeks ago and I don't feel sorry anymore.

Judges: (K) I really like you but I think you are in trouble. It’s just not the song choice for you. (P) At this stage you need to take us by surprise. (S) It was boring. The things we liked about you are disappearing. It wasn’t you. (R)IT was like watching paint dry.

I was ashamed of how excited I was to hear Danny sing "What Hurts The Most" I figured he had it in the bag. This was his best choice of song since he has been in the competition and I commend him for picking it. I think if he had of chosen something upbeat and different he was going to lose alot of fans. Instead, he reminded his fans and the people who hate him why we put him on the show in the first place. It reminded me of hearing him (back when I liked him) during auditions and hollywood week. It was refreshing to hear his vocals not be so strained and to not have to watch his hysterical nonsense dancing. Props for not making me hate you for one less week than before.

Judges: (P) This is where you thrive. This is a performance I would hit repeat while in my car. (S) This week I thought was your best performance. It was so much better than the first 2 performances tonight. This is what it is about. (R) Tonight’s show starts right here. Keep it moving. Very nice. (K) You moved everyone in this room emotionally. You gave your heart and soul. I had goosebumps.

I have not been a fan of Allison all season. Even from the begining I didn't care for her. For some odd reason tonight when she sang that song I started warming up to her. I'm still not sold, but her vocals are pretty darn good. I do agree with the judges that she shouted parts of the song. Just the chorus though, in my opinion. I thought the beginging of the song was very good. Sadly, I do agree that her outfit was disgusting. It made her look heavier than she is and fake.

Judges: (R) Vocally you can sing. You were rushing the band. What are you wearing? I don’t get the ensemble tonight. (K) The rock in you comes out no matter what you are wearing. Don’t try. You are a great singer. Good performance, not the best. (P) You are serious about this. You are going right to the finish line. (S) We can’t ignore the outfit, it is something from the Adam’s family. I thought it was a bit dressy uppy like a rockstar. You shouted the song.

Going into tonight I had told myself this would be Scott's last performance on the Idol stage. After his performance and everybody else's I'm not so sure anymore. It was much better than the past few weeks. Honestly though, I'm growing sick and tired of the piano and him using it. I love watching him play and am moved by how incredible he is at it, but there comes a time when it gets repetitve and he leans on it to support him. He did alot better than alot of other people tonight even if it wasn't amazing. We will see what happens. Oh, and his hair scared the crap out of me. It was frightening.

Judges: (K) I think yo made some smart decisions tonight with that song. You sang to the audience and it came from an honest place. I love the new look. (P) I am most proud of you out of all the contestants. (S) Your best performance by a country mile so far. It is a different Scott with the Ryan Seacrest hair. (R) Your best performance and one of the best of the night.

Matt broke my heart tonight. This song is one of my favorite Fray songs and could have done him some good. Instead he chose to do it exactly like the original. That was the worst choice he could have made. Secondly, he peformed in the middle of the audience. It was strange and I found it very disconnecting to viewers at home. His vocals were not even up to what they normally are. I was rooting for him to do good tonight and instead he took a good song and chunked it down four flights of stairs.

Judges:(P) It became more of a sound a like. This wasn’t a great performance for you. (S) It felt very put on, very uptight and not a good commercial song. I didn’t get it. (R) It was the wrong song for you. This was not you. You are not a rock singer. (K) You keep going between the rock side and the R&B side. You need to pick one but you don’t deserve to go home

Lil has never excited me. Her video packages are more exciting than her performances. She seems like the sweetest mother and kindest person, I just wish she was current enough to make it in this competition. She has the voice, she just doesn't know where to fit in. She's gotta stop changing her look, singing huge songs, and making us think it isn't 2009 anymore. Otherwise, I think she has a chance at being in the bottom three very soon.

Judges: (R) Not have been my song choice but you sang it really really well. You have great vocal skills. (K) When you go up there it is effortless. You are singer that can let it out and wow us. (P) I wanna see the joy you brought to us when we first saw you. (S) This was you picking a safe song. Found it similar to a wedding performance.

I nearly cried when I heard he was singing this song earlier before the show aired. It seemed like the worst possible choice for anybody, even the great Adam Lambert to choose. There didn't seem to be a way to make that song likeable in a way that could be performed and not thought of as karaoke. Sadly, I didn't even have much faith Adam could do that. But he blew away any of the low expectations and worries I had. He made this song his and current enough where it could be listened to tomorrow and taken more seriously than the corny original. This is probably my least favorite performance of his because I hate the original of this song. I do think he rescued it and performed extremely well. It amazes me more and more each week of how he can hit the notes he can, hold them out that long, work the stage the way he does, and all while looking good doing it. Like my good friend David mentioned to me, he is too good for the Idol stage.

Judges: (P) True genius shatters expectations. (S) That was very brave. At least we get rid of some of the karaoke we have had tonight. It was original. (R) You got that voice, you worked it out. (K) It’s like Studio 57 in here.

Pimp spot this week goes to............... Kris Allen! Rightfully deserved by the way. He has really been on a roll recently. Tonight was moving. This song has been sung very well on the Idol stage before, so I was worried he wouldn't be as good. It was like I wasn't listening to the same song though. He made it Kris from beginging to end and I loved every bit of it. I beleive he has a shot at the top 3 from where he is right now. Keep doing what your doing!

Judges: (R) For the last couple of weeks you have been slaying it. You are in the zone. (K) That is artistry. (P) You took a 30 year old song and made it like I heard it for the first time. (S) You brought confidence tonight. Very clever, very cool. Best performance so far.

What did you think? Did Lil's new hair bother you? Were you wanting to hear more of one particular person? Why did Scott's stylists give him funky hair? Do you think somebody should fire the Idol stylists and get new ones? What made you come away feeling like the show tonight was worth watching?
